Choosing Your Laundry Detergent
People choose their washing detergent based on many factors. Some stick to the detergent that their parents used, whilst others make a decision based on what’s on sale or what smells the best. With so many options out there, the latest post from Queens Drive Laundry discusses how to choose laundry detergent, based on the factors that are most important to you.
Laundry detergents come in three main forms, single dose, liquid and powder. Whilst all will clean your clothes, liquid detergents are often considered best for greasy or oily stains and powdered detergent is best for mud stains or ground in dirt.
One of the most common issues people encounter with liquid detergents is using too much. Although there is a maximum fill line on the cap, people can often be tempted to use more to give their clothes a stronger smell or to tackle stains better. However, using too much liquid detergent will not only mean wasting money, it can also leave a residue on your clothes which makes them unpleasant to touch.
The common issue noted by consumers that use powdered detergent comes if only cold water is used for washing. Where this is the case, the powder may not get dissolved properly and cause a build up in your washing machine or leave white marks on your clothes. To avoid this issue, you can mix the detergent with hot water, before putting it in the drum of your washing machine.
Single dose washing tablets are quick and convenient to use. There is no measuring required and you know that will always get the correct dose. However, you may find that these tablets are more expensive to buy.
